The Twilight movies are the newest thing since sliced bread. Twilight is a series of books written by Stephenie Meyer. After being rejected by 14 agents, in 2005 her book debuted #5 on the New York Times Best Seller list within a week of being released and then became #1.

To date, Twilight has sold over 17 million copies. There are 4 books in the series, Twilight, New Moon, Eclipse and Breaking Dawn. In 2009, Twilight the movie was released and grossed more than $382 million from the movie and now has grossed over $157 million from DVD sales in North America alone.

The sequel to Twilight, New Moon was released this morning at midnight. Fans are excited, to say the least. Even if you’re not a fan, you probably know what Twilight is a movie and book that is the story of a teenage girl’s love affair with a vampire named Edward.

People camped out to see the midnight show this morning. Midnights shows sold out across the nation. It’s almost a cult following, the fans of the Twilight movies.

You may be surprised that that most of the fanatical fans are not actually the teens as you would expect but rather the teen’s mothers. Twilight Moms is a group of 32,000 moms who love twilight. It is very scary to hear them interviewed. Some of these Twilight Moms say they feel like they are alive and awake again after so many years of day after day activities.

Those are some moms who need something to do, that’s for sure. When interviewing the young man who plays Edward, he said that fans old enough to be his mother has asked him to marry him. This will not be the last we see of twilight. There are two more books so there are at least two more movies coming. By the time it is done, may be rather than the group calling itself the Twilight Moms, they may be calling themselves the Twilight Grandmas.

Whatever they call themselves, it seems they will still be following the Twilight movies with great gusto and excitedment.

Did you ever receive a letter from Santa? When I was a child, once, I received a letter from Santa and it was post marked North Pole Alaska.

It turns out that kids have been sending and receiving thousands and thousands of letters to and from the North Pole for decades but that is all ending. Some say it’s because of the increased price of postage and some are calling the postal service the Grinch.

This program was sponsored by the postal service and is now ending at the postal service’s directions. But it is not because of the costs involved.

It turns out that the reason for ending the program is that there is a fear that child molesters could get a hold of lists of children involved and that would not be a good thing. This has not happened yet, but there is the fear of it happening. I think this was a great service that North Pole Alaska has been providing and they deserve a big thank you.

I also think this should be thought about again because we can’t live our lives in fear and we should be able to enjoy special things in life.

Wow! Susan Boyle came out of nowhere and shocked people all over the world as she performed on Britain’s Got Talent. We kind of thought she was just a phase (or a fun video to watch on YouTube), but it turns out she’s the real deal and it looks like she’s here to stay. And now she’s setting more records with her upcoming album I Dreamed a Dream.

Fidel Castro dead was on the internet today but I watched every news channel tonight and apparently it is a false announcement. I’m not sure why people like to report that people have died who have not.

This is not the first time this has happened with Fidel Castro either. Fidel Casto is 83 years old and is the dictator of Cuba. He has been in some sort of leadership position in Cuba since 1959. Castro rules his country in a way that seems crazy to some people, yet he has a law degree and was born into a wealthy family.

He has been in Cuban politics since law school. Castro has always been critical of the United States. In 1953 he led an attack that failed and was put into jail, then later released. He then went to Mexico where he organized a group of revolutionaries and revolted against the Cuban government thrusting himself into power.

Interestingly, Castro does not like dictatorships, even thought he is one. In 2006 it was rumored that Fidel Castro died but he actually had had surgery and had transferred his poser to his young brother, Raul. Raul as been the president since that time, although it was supposed to be a temporary transfer of power.

Fidel was too ill to even attend his 80 birthday celebrations, but the Cuban government keeps insisting he is alive and well. The Cuban people suspect that Fidel may have terminal cancer but doctors insist he does not. His doctor states emphatically that Fidel does not have cancer but rather problems with his digestive system, claiming he is stable.

In 2007, a newspaper cited sources claiming Fidel was in grave condition and that his operations had failed and there were complications. However, his doctors again denied these claims. In January, 2007, photos of Fidel and Hugo Chavez surfaced. Fidel was alive and well. Raul says he consults with Fidel and matters that he needs help with. In April 2007, the Cuban government said Fidel was almost totally recovered.

In January, 2009, Fidel was seen in photos with Argentine president Cristina Fernandez and published a comment to the Cuban people to not be disturbed by his future death. Fidel Castro will not live forever. One day, “Fidel Castro dead” will be in the news and he will have died. But that day does not appear to be today.
